Katherine Riner Bowen

Katherine Riner Bowen, 84, of Richmond, VA, passed away February 24, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Clifton S. Riner and Sarah Frances Pierce; and loving son, George Glenwood Bowen, Jr.

Katherine was born and raised in Richmond, and graduated from John Marshall High School. She then worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant at Babcock Phillips and later for the Commonwealth of Virginia, Division of General Services. She worked there tirelessly so she could take care of her family. Katherine delighted in her family and enjoyed playing the piano.

As a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Richmond, her faith and love were her foundations for everything. Well done, good and faithful servant!

She is survived by her sons, Stephen R. Bowen (Rhonda), and Kenneth W. Bowen (Patricia); daughter-in-law, Carol Bowen; grandchildren, Joshua, Victoria, Preston, Bubba, Clifton, and Jessica Bowen; great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Eleanor, Hollyn, and Mia; and lifelong friend, Rose Powell.

A memorial service will be held at Blileys Funeral Home, 8510 Staples Mill Rd, Richmond, VA on Friday, March 11 at 1:30 pm with burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
