

Lisa Ann Pershing Ballinger died on June 28, 2016 after a lengthy illness. She was 52 years old. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she became a resident of Williamsburg, Virginia in 1986. She was a long-time employee of the Williamsburg Regional Library, a fencing instructor, a bookbinder, a bowler and a writer. She graduated from Central Michigan University, received a Master’s Degree in Children’s Literature from Hollins University and attended Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, England.
She is predeceased by her husband, John; parents, Ralph and Kathryne Pershing; and her sister, Amy. She is survived by her brother, Sean; step-mother, Geraldine O’Grady; step-sons, Michael and Kenneth Ballinger; and four granddaughters.
Her greatest achievement in life was earning the love of her family and friends.
