A native of South Hill, Virginia, Margaret was born on May 24, 1928 to Margaret F. Jessup and James C. Jessup. She graduated from Madison College. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Colonel (US Army) Lawrence E. Butler of Suffolk, VA. A true southern lady and loving mother, she loved to travel, cook, and spend time at the Outer Banks.
Margaret is survived by her two sons, Captain (US Navy) James Butler of Fairfax, VA and Captain (US Navy) Ralph Butler, M.D. of Chesapeake, VA.; two daughters, Mary Mitchell of Alpharetta, GA and Priscilla Tyndall of Paris, TX; 12 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter.
