

Margaret Jean Moore Fosdick, 89, of Williamsburg, VA, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. She was born on February 2, 1928 in Cobleskill, NY to Isabelle and Chauncey Moore. On October 23, 1948, she married George Warren Fosdick in Lake George, NY.
Margaret had been a resident of Patriots Colony since August 2007. She was a practicing Methodist and a devoted mother and wife. Margaret was heavily involved in her community and enjoyed being a Cub Scout Leader, Girl Scout Leader, volunteering at school, and working for Colonial Williamsburg. In 1976, she took flying lessons from George and got her pilot’s license. In November of 1978, Margaret also earned her instrument rating and commercial license, then earned her Flight Instructor and Instrument Instructor ratings and began to teach. She was the Chief Flight Instructor at the Ft. Eustis Flying Club for nine years and took many trips with George flying private planes. She was also talented at needlework and loved jigsaw crossword puzzles.
Margaret is survived by her children, Robert W. Fosdick, William P. Fosdick, Raymond B. Fosdick, Karen Fosdick May, and Susan Fosdick Valentine, 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
