

Mrs. Carboni was born in Lancaster, PA and grew up in Mount Joy, PA. She graduated from Mount Joy High School in 1949 as valedictorian. She later attended Ohio University where she met her husband, Robert O. “Bob” Carboni.
The couple was married in 1952 in Lancaster. Over the years, the couple made their home in Idaho, Ohio, Connecticut, Michigan, Wisconsin and Virginia. They moved to Williamsburg in 1997.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years. She is survived by three daughters and one son: Robin Castellani (Edward) of Lansing, MI; Dr. Meghan Carboni (James Moore) of Ortonville, MI; Karen Kimple (Joseph) of Whitefish Bay, WI; and Kevin of Palmetto, FL. Eight grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.
Mrs. Carboni was blessed with an infectious energy and was an active tennis and bridge player. Over the years, she was a volunteer tutor to disadvantaged children in Pontiac, MI, volunteered for many civic and school related functions, and served as professional advisor to senior patients at St. Michael’s Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. Always associated with a Catholic church, Mrs. Carboni was most recently an active member of St. Bede Catholic Church in Williamsburg, VA.
The family wishes to express thanks and appreciation for the exceptionally loving care MJ received in her final years from the Patriots Colony community, with a special thank you to her extraordinary primary caregiver, Charlotte Hill. Mrs.
Carboni’s funeral Mass will be offered at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 28, at The National Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham in Colonial Williamsburg, followed by a celebration of her life at St. Bede Catholic Church. Due to the location of the Shrine in the historic district, please allow extra time for parking and carpool when possible.
