

Mary Ann was born on September 6, 1943, in Niagara Falls, New York. In her early years, she was raised in Texas, and later her family relocated to Connecticut. At Greenwich (CT) High School, Mary Ann was an avid and accomplished swimmer, often competing at the state level. She graduated from Denison University in 1967 and thereafter began her career at International Business Machines (IBM) training customers, where she met her future husband, Walter. Mary Ann and Walter were married on December 16, 1968. After the birth of her first daughter, she left the corporate world and became a fulltime homemaker. Mary Ann will always be remembered for her silly sense of humor, love for music, and one of a kind caring and gentle nature.
Mary Ann is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Walter, her daughter Holly, her son Paul (wife Maggie), and her grandsons PJ and James.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Annette (Friend) O’Mara and Frederick Bates O’Mara, and daughter, Heather.
A celebration of Mary Ann’s life will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Saint Olaf Catholic Church in Williamsburg, Virginia, with a visitation at 12:30 p.m. followed by a service at 1:30 p.m. She will ultimately be laid to rest at the Calvary Cemetery in Oil City, Pennsylvania.
