Mildred “Mimi” Loring, a longtime resident of Williamsburg, passed away on March 15, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Murray Loring, her brother, Alvin Rogers and her sister, Rita Becker. Mimi had been a beloved teacher for many years in the James City County School System. A founding member of Temple Beth El of Williamsburg, she served as president of the Sisterhood as well as principal of the Sunday School. An integral member of the community, Mimi also served as an officer in many civic organizations. She is survived by her son, Arthur Loring and wife, Vicki; daughters, Sasha Loring and Sondra Loring; grandson, Mateo Coffey-Loring; and brother, Lester Rogers and wife, Gerri. A service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 18 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg. Interment will follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park.
