Myrtle P. Brown passed away Friday, April 13th in Williamsburg, Virginia at the age of 91. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charlton L. Brown; granddaughter, Wendy Thacker; parents, Junius J. Powell and Nena M. Hanna; and six brothers and sisters.
Myrtle was a member of the Grace Baptist Church and retired from Eastern State Hospital. She was an avid gardener, nurtured her family and friends by cooking and baking for them any and every chance she could get. Myrtle was a faithful and devoted Christian woman who never knew a stranger and had an open door for all.
Survivors include sons, Sam C. Brown (Brenda) and Ernie A. Brown; daughter, June Brown; granddaughters, Shelley Millirons and Nikki Brown; four great-grandchildren and one great great -grandchild.
A visitation will be held at 12pm on Wednesday, April 18th at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, Virginia with the service following at 1pm. The interment will be at Williamsburg Memorial Park, 130 King William Drive, Williamsburg, Virginia after the service.
