

Norman S. Depew, age 83, of Williamsburg, passed away on Wednesday April 22, 2015. Norman was born on March 17, 1932 to the late Daniel and Lillian Depew, in Zion, Illinois. He spent his childhood growing up in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In later years he resided in Columbus, Ohio, Lynchburg and Williamsburg, Virginia, and Naples, Florida.
Norman graduated from Western Michigan University; was a Veteran in the US Naval Reserves; an employee for Nationwide Insurance Company for 35 years; and a member of Masonic Lodge #340 in Portage, MI. Norman and his wife Theresa became the original Co-Founders of Colonial Healthcare in Williamsburg, until they sold the company to Williamsburg Community Hospital in the mid 80's. Some of Norman’s hobbies included flying, as he held his Pilot’s License and was a member of the Lynchburg Flying Club; he enjoyed golfing, playing cards with his friends, and boating in the James River with his sail boat and motor boat. He and his wife Theresa spent many years of their marriage traveling throughout the US and the Caribbean Islands together. He is also a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, the Sertoma Club, First Colony Civic Association, and the Royal Palm Country Club in Naples, Florida.
Norman is the beloved husband of 37 years to Theresa S. Depew; loving father of Denise Depew, Sarah Moore, Alex (Lisa) Moore and the late Carol Ann Depew; adored grandfather of Suzanna and Kaela (Carl) Sinclair; great-grandfather of Willow Faye; and bother of Terry (Charlotte) Depew and the late Richard Depew and his wife Shirley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Norman had an amazing positive outlook on life with a contagious smile. He is will be deeply missed by his family and friends who loved and adored him.
A Celebration of Norman’s Life will be held at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, 215 Richmond Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23185, on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 11:00AM.
