

Paul was born on April 24, 1928 in Huntington, West Virginia to Joseph Bernard and Mary Eugenia Engbersen, who preceded him in death. He was raised by his Aunt and Uncle Augustus “Gus” and Nora Fesenmeier who preceded him in death. His wife Idora Faye Engbersen and brother John Engbersen also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his five children, Jeff (Beverly), Joe (Judy), Monica Gilley (Glenn), Genia Prior and John, all of Williamsburg, Va. Included in the survivors are 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. All were very special to him. He is survived by his sister, Margie Snow of Cincinnati, Ohio.
In 1949, he was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Huntington, West Virginia. In 1950, Paul served in the military where he spent a year in Germany. After the military, he attended Marshall University and obtained a degree in Engineering Sciences. He then attended Siebel School of Chicago for Brewing. His career in the brewing industry began with him going back home and working at the Fesenmeier Brewery.
Paul then met the love of his life, Idora Faye Bailey. They were married on August 21,1954 and enjoyed 69 years of marriage. Paul continued working at many other breweries during his lifetime. Jax Brewery in New Orleans, La, Iron City Beer in Pittsburg,PA, National Brewing in Baltimore,Md, and finally in 1975 Anheuser Busch in Williamsburg,Va.
Paul had many hobbies which included golfing, watching horse racing, playing bridge and antique shopping. He also enjoyed teaching the brewing process (Beer School) at the NASCAR events.
He will be greatly missed!
Funeral services will be held for both Paul and Faye Engbersen on August 17, 2024 at 12pm at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Norge, VA.
