We mourn her loss, but celebrate her 99 years of a life well-lived. She danced with a delightful step, loved the beach, reading, chocolate and margaritas, and was a gifted golfer with bragging rights to a hole in one at age 89.
Born in Indianapolis, IN and formerly of Youngstown, OH, she spent 30 years at Carolina Trace, a golfing community in Sanford, NC, before moving 10 years ago to Chambrel, where she found a loving, caring community, including staff members Brenda and Tammy.
She was preceded in death by her first husband A. Richard Brown and her second husband Martin F. Hearney; sisters, Helen Schaller and Anna Marie Kelly; and brothers, Francis and August Peters.
She leaves her three children, Susan Wenzler (Martin), James Brown (Diane) and Buzz Brown (Sally); a sister, Mary Jane Bordelon; 9 grandchildren, Chris Wenzler (Melissa), Amy Winegardner (Mauri), Paul Wenzler (Molly), Kevin Brown,, Karen Broussard (Kevin), Kelly Heitzmann, Kristen Edwards (Dale) , Katie Leibhan (Evan), and Paul Brown; 16 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
There will be a Funeral Mass on June 27 at 11:00 a.m. at the Catholic Campus Ministry Chapel, 10 Harrison Street, Williamsburg, VA. Interment will follow at a later date in North Carolina.
Special thanks to Dr. Pranav Parikh for helping to keep her so “amazing” these past 10 years.
