He was a loving husband, brother and uncle, and enjoyed being with family and friends.
Dicky retired from Camp Peary as a garage foreman and was a graduate of Hampton High. He was a member of Laf-A-Lot Rod and Gun Club.
Before succumbing to Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), he was an avid bass fisherman, who enjoyed many hours in his boat on Diascund Reservoir, Chickahominy River and Lake Gaston. He also enjoyed being at his second home in Colington Harbor OBX, NC. He could fix almost anything and enjoyed restoring a 34 Ford Tudor sedan to a hot rod. As a younger man, he loved to surf and water ski.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Tracer; his 3 sisters, Deborah Webb and her husband, Wayne Webb, Sandra Walters and her husband, John Walters and Kimberly Middleton and her husband, Troy Middleton; and thirteen nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, February 28 from 2-4pm, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA.
Donations may be made to MSA, 9935-D Rea Rd #212, Charlotte, NC 28277. Online donations can be made at https://www.multiple systematrophy.org/fundraising/donation. Dicky’s wish of having his brain donated was fulfilled to MSA research, in hopes of finding a cure for MSA.
