Renate Griemsmann Judson

Born in Brooklyn, NY on November 16, 1937 to parents, Paul and Alma Griemsmann, and raised in Rockville Centre, Long Island. She graduated from Oceanside HS and Lasell Junior College for Women in Auburndale, MA. Renate married Ensign James Judson June 15, 1958, and in 2022, they celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. She was a member of King of Glory Lutheran Church and her life was devoted to the Lord and her family.

Renate is survived by her loving husband, James Judson; brother, Paul Griemsmann and wife Anke; 3 lovely daughters and their husbands, Rebecca and Paul Hanson, Joanna and James Bisher, and Christina and Richard Joannis; 6 grandchildren, Zachary and Joshua Hanson, Jonathan and Jacob Bisher, David Raillon and Nicole Joannis; and 8 great-grandchildren, Maxwell Paul Hanson, Chloe Celeste Bisher, James Duncan Bisher, Annabelle Victoria Raillon, Nora Elaine Hanson, Charlotte Louise Hanson, Bryce Christian Hanson, and Liam Jonah Hanson.

The joy of the Lord was hers.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 4897 Longhill Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188 with the reception to follow. The family will have a private interment.
