Robert Wayne "Bobby" Hodge, 56, of Williamsburg, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 3, 2021. Robert was an honors graduate of Bruton High School, attended lnterlochen in Michigan, studied music at the California Institute of the Arts, and attended and graduated from Julliard. A very talented actor/musician/singer, Robert was President of RH Entertainment International. His performances delighted audiences all over the United States, from New York to California, as well as on cruise ships and in exotic vacation destinations. He held special Christmas Shows in Williamsburg each year, and his CD's sold out rapidly. Wherever he went, Robert made friends, many of them famous actors and musicians, and he had an impressive collection of autographed photographs from each of them. Two very special friends were Dolly Parton and Cher. Robert was the Music Therapist/Choir Director at Eastern State Hospital until 1983, an Event Producer for Max Images, Inc. in New York City until 2000, wrote for OnStage Magazine, New York City until 2005, and had a program entitled "Your Show" for radio station WMBG in Williamsburg until 2019. He was currently the organist and choir director for Unity Fellowship Church. His energy, talent, creative brilliance and lovely music brightened our world. His humor and vibrancy gave us joy. He will be missed dearly but we find comfort knowing Heaven is now being graced by Robert's beautiful spirit. He is survived by his parents, Gregory "Teenie" and Ruth Hodge; his sister Pamela and her husband Gary Hedgepeth; his nieces, Mary Katherine Aadahl (Christopher) and Courtney Gail Thomas (Erin); his adored canine companion, "Girlie" and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will received guests on Thursday, June 10 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg. Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 11 at Unity Fellowship Church, 624 Queens Creek Rd., Williamsburg. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in Robert’s honor to the American Heart Association, the Lions of Virginia Bland Music Scholarship Foundation, or the Virginia Musical Museum and Music Hall of Fame.
