The only thing promised in life is death, and it’s in death that we find life.  It’s hard to believe I’ll be doing ‘this too shall pass’ without you while waiting for gate number two. I am looking forward to seeing how amazingly blue those baby blues are when we meet again.  A&F 

I miss you so incredibly much, Ryan. We were supposed to grow old together, holding hands in our rocking chairs. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for helping me through my grief at  losing Brandon and Dad. I’d give almost anything to hear your voice and feel your arms around me one more time. I’ve always loved you. I’ll never stop loving you. 

I am truly sorry for your loss Ryan was a great person I am so glad I got to meet him . He always made me laugh when I was feeling down  . I miss him so much . Everytime I needed someone to talk to he was there now I really don't have no one now sense he is gone. 

Ryan, Its been some years since we last saw each other but I would like to say how much you mean to me. All the way back to Toano middle school... the awesome deer jerky that you would bring me and you would always help me eat it because it was so good . Even when you worked at the lumber job, you saved my job by letting me drive your car to work every day and come back to pick you up.  You had an enormous heart and I'm sad to see you leave this world.  Until we meet again my brother.

Oh Ryan, so many hearts are shattered over losing you kiddo. This is all so hard to believe. I know you are flying high with some of the greatest angels in Heaven.  I can hear your aunt Judy now....sweet pea, where's my hug. Becky, Terry, and Keri ....please know my thoughts and prayers are with you guys. Ryan was an amazing cousin. He always gave the best hugs. We are all going to miss him terribly. I want to let aunt Becky,  Terry, Keri, uncle rod and aunt lori know how sorry we all are that you are having to go thru this. We are all here for you and we send you all and Ryan's kids lots of hugs and kisses. Ryan will never be forgotten as he lives in each one of us daily. My prayers go out to Becky and Rodney.  I always seen him as the little ornrey boy I use to baby sit He will always be in my memories and live in my heart !!!

Worked with Ryan  at Scott Drilling . So very sorry to hear about this. Ryan was a good friend. I have lots of memories of him and me  working hard drilling holes for Scott drilling . In the woods , middle of the road, in a movie theater. In old RFK stadium . Even in the middle of a lake . We drilled holes everywhere ! Ryan made the ride to and from the job quite interesting to say the least. He was a hard worker and he made being soaking wet , muddy  and cold not so bad for me. Hope to see you again my friend

Memorial Service

Ryan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Stanley and Luellen O’Dell, and paternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Jane Burnside.  Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Rebecca O’Dell Steele (Terry); his father, Rodney Burnside (Lori); sister, Keri Steele; daughters, Leah Burnside, Kynnedi Burnside; son, Kaiden Burnside; ex-wife, Nicole Thompson (Mickey);  and ex-step-daughter, Jazmine Kubovcik.
