
She is survived by her four children: Nancy Plott Williams (Dick); Jennie Plott Betton (Rick); Glenn L. Plott, Jr. (Cass); Julia Plott Oravetz (widow of Michael). Her grandchildren are Will Betton, Anna Betton Schatz, Molly Betton Martucci, Meredith Williams Allin, Walker Williams, Jeremy Plott. She has seven great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Dawn Gulley Edwards. She spent her last years in Norfolk living with her youngest daughter, Julia.
Sheila graduated from Mars Hill College and Meredith College, majoring in music and chemistry. Her several careers included chemist, church organist, and social worker in child protective services and foster care. As the daughter and wife of pastors, she had a life-long love for the church. She was involved and interested in missions and volunteered her time and resources to a number of missions organizations and projects. She worked to establish Contact, a crisis hotline in Petersburg and Richmond. She volunteered in the church nursery well into her 90th year.
The family will have a private memorial service.
