Susan Katherine Westfall

Susan K. Westfall, a resident of Williamsburg, VA for the last five years, passed away on April 26, 2016 surrounded by her family at the age of 67. She was born in Waterlou, IA to Vincent Gearhart and Gertrude Weber who preceded her in death. Susan attended St. Bede Roman Catholic Church.

She was very proud of her accomplishments. She graduated from Columbus High School, in Waterlou, IA in 1966. She attended the University of Iowa (2 B.S.), as well as the University of St. Francis (M.S.) in Illinois. She worked as a Radiation Therapists for about 10 years at the University of Iowa Hospitals. In 1980, she served as a Chief Radiation Therapists in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and at Parkview Health Oncology System for 15 years. Also, 17 years before retiring from Allen county Public Library; she started and managed their used book store, she served on the Indian state Board of health, radiation therapists licensing committee, 4 years at Allen Co. Board of Health.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Sally Strottman of Waverly, Iowa. She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Lynn Westfall, her sister, Sandy Pardun (Tom) from Reno, NV; brother, Steve Gearhart (Becky) from Clearlake, IA; Sister, Betty Gearhart from Dallas, TX; and brother, Tom Gearhart (Pamela) from Los Angeles, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
