His love of adventure and the outdoors began as a young Boy Scout in Columbus, Ohio and he would earn the highest badge as an Eagle Scout with Troop 29 in Hampton, Virginia in 1975. Shortly after, TJ joined the United States Army and became a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. His service in the United States Army was a source of pride that he carried with him his entire life. Always the consummate salesman, TJ left his imprint on several companies, many of which implemented his marketing strategies into their corporate requirements and are still used to this day.
TJ lived his entire life with an explorer’s heart and an insatiable amount of curiosity. He loved nothing more than traveling the world with his beloved fiancé and soulmate, Katrina Cauble, by his side. Buying an RV to travel through the United States, he never tired of experiencing and seeing new things. When not traveling stateside, they were boarding planes to travel the rest of the world. From exploring the mountains of Switzerland, hiking in Iceland, to walking the streets of tiny villages in Italy, TJ never tired of exploring and would eagerly plan for his next adventure. His love of photography allowed all his family and friends to experience these places through his eyes. He always captured the uniqueness and beauty of a moment or place through his lens and delighted in showing those images to everyone.
Preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Dudgeon Mann; TJ is survived by his father, Michael J. Mann; his sisters, Karen Mann Schell (Jeff Schell) and Elizabeth Mann Judd (Daniel Judd); his daughter, Jenna Mann Smith (Rich Smith); his fiancé, Katrina Cauble; his stepdaughter, Lexi Cauble; his stepson, Matt Wilson; and four grandchildren, Arya, Ethan, Ella, and Patrick. He leaves behind six nieces and nephews, and family that adored him from Texas to Canada as well as many cherished friends from around the world.
