Jack Owen Henderson of Williamston, Michigan lived 75 wonderful years. He passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at home with his family by his side. He will be greatly missed by friends and family.

Jack was born in Alton, Illinois on December 10, 1936. He graduated from Williamston High School in 1954. He married his high school sweetheart Barbara Gregg, February 17, 1956.

Jack attended Michigan State University and then worked in the insurance industry most of his life. He spent 16 years with Auto Owners and 27 years with Frankenmuth Insurance of Michigan. He retired from Frankenmuth Insurance in 1999. After retiring Jack and Barb moved to Gaylord, Michigan. Jack was always a big part of the Williamston Community where he actively participated in his children’s athletics and other activities. A number of things Jack enjoyed were: golfing, bowling, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.

Jack is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara and children, Don (Patty) Henderson, Rick Henderson and Terri (Dan) Poland, grandchildren, Drew (Erin) Henderson, Ryan Henderson, Jessie (Tony) Beck, Craig Poland, Brittni Poland, Ashley Henderson, great grandchildren, Devyn Redican and Jordan Redican, and his faithful friend of 60 years, Ron Merrifield.

Jack was preceded in death by his father Frederick Jasper Henderson and mother Florence Lenore (Crosset) Henderson.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 12, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, Williamston Chapel, 205 E. Middle St. Williamston. Funeral Services will be Monday, 11a.m. February 13, 2012 at the funeral home. Interment will be held following the funeral service at Summit Cemetery, Beeman Rd. Williamston, MI.
