

Jeanette Moran, aged 86, passed away on December 26, 2016. She was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1930. She is a graduate of Cooley High School, Detroit. Jeanette married Maurice Moran, whom she'd known since kindergarten, and they made their home in Livonia, Michigan where they raised their two children.
Jeanette was an active member at Timothy Lutheran Church in Livonia for many years. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School and served on the Women of the Church board. Jeanette often hosted Bible Studies in her home and planned several retreats for women. She could often be found gardening at the church, sorting clothes at a clothing drive, or helping serve a funeral luncheon. In later years, Jeanette followed her family to St. Michael Lutheran Church in Canton, Michigan. There, she continued to serve and study. She enjoyed the weekly senior citizen Bible Study for many years.
Jeanette was PTA president at Garfield Elementary School in the early 1960s. She coordinated a polio vaccine clinic at the school, as well as book fairs, the sale of savings stamps, and holiday programs. She always enjoyed hearing about students from Garfield that went onto successful careers. Family was always Jeanette's priority. She was happy to bake everyone's favorite goodies, and family dinnertime each evening was the norm. She was a willing driver when her children had activities, even running out for water balloons. Jeanette's love of shopping and shoes has been passed onto her daughter and granddaughters. Jeanette had a lot of fun with her grandchildren and was very proud of each of them. Jeanette wass preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Moran, and she is survived by her children; Kevin (Susan) Moran; Phyllis Moran (Jeffrey Arakelian) and her grandchildren; Megan Mentley (Jeremy); Lauren Guetschow (Erik); Patrick Moran.
Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements under the direction of Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Williamston, MI.
