Leland was born on November 21, 1925 in Webberville, MI to Walter and Sylvia (Harris) Oesterle, and passed away on February 6, 2015 at the age of 89.

Leland retired from Motor Wheel Corporation after many years of service. He is a decorated WWII veteran having received the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. He loved animals and gardening and especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Leland was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Peggy Oesterle in 1980 ; daughter Mary Esch; son, Leland Oesterle; granddaughter, Angela Branch and grandson Lee Oesterle.. He is survived by Dale (Linda) Oesterle, daughters Kay (Gordon) Branch and Coleen (James) Sommer; step children, Dan (Sandy) O’Shay, Fred Hooghouse and Darla (Bill) Brown and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister Virginia Wright.

Per the wishes of Leland and the family, there will be no services. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Riverwind of Williamston and Hometown Hospice for their care of Leland.
