Malissia Ruth Stone, a resident of Webberville, Michigan, passed away on December 27, 2025, at the age of 84. She was born on February 9, 1941, in Johnson City, Tennessee. Malissia was a loyal, resilient, faithful, hard-working, and selfless individual.
Malissia was a devoted homemaker and worked in home health care. She was known for her love of gardening, music, and spending time with her family. Her partner of many years, Bob Day, predeceased her in 2017.
She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Holt, where she served as a deacon. Malissia was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and great grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and love for her family.
She is survived by her children, Dennis Kassa, Debra May (Randy), Denise Kassa, Malisha Kassa (Mikel Lorente), and Michael Lawera; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Kassa. Her grandchildren Nieco Kassa (Mykel), Kyra Kassa, Brody Kassa (Kaity), Salim Shively (Emilee), Aliana Shively, Douglas Kassa, Dominick Kassa, Olivia Flores, Haley Bentley, Julen Lorente, Micah Lorente, and Mazzy Lawera, as well as her great-grandchildren Ian, Niko, Navid, Easton, Paislee, and Hudson, also survive her. Her siblings, Sylvonia Hickman (Robert), and Gerry Adkins, and several nieces and nephews, mourn her loss as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Virginia (Baxley) Adkins; her partner, Bob Day; her son, Douglas Kassa; and her siblings, Diane Adkins, Larry Adkins, and Phyllis Hoffmann.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 7, 2026, at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Holt, located at 2021 N Aurelius Rd, Holt, Michigan 48842.
