Margaret Marie Pike was born October 28, 1920 to Edward and Martha (Mielke) Prell in Hawks, Michigan. She passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011.
Margaret worked many years at Flint Osteopathic Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She was a long-time member of Our Savior Lutheran Church of Flint. Her children and grandchildren have always held the greatest part of Margaret’s heart. Still, she found time to enjoy gardening, reading, knitting, crocheting, traveling, music, playing Yahtzee and volunteering at Community Mental Health of Flint. In recent years Margaret has lived in Williamston and attended St. Luke Lutheran Church.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents; brothers Elroy Mielke, Merlin Mielke and Wilbur Prell; sisters Ruth Hall and Dorothy Mae McElhaney. She is survived by her children Thomas Pike, Christine (Douglas) Gruschow, and Victoria (David) Worth of Williamston and Richard (Barbara) Pike of Seward, Nebraska; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister Marie Basel.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 4-8 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Middle St., Williamston. Funeral Services will take place Wednesday, December 21, 11:00, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 5589 Van Atta Rd., Haslett, with Rev. David A. Davis officiating There will be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to: St. Luke Lutheran Church Organ Fund, 5589 Van Atta Rd., Haslett or American Bible Society, Military Distribution, 1865 Broadway, New York, NY 10023.
