Norma Jean (Sober) Bachman, age 78, passed away September 7,
2010. Norma was born in Lapeer, Michigan on October 2, 1931.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, George W.
Bachman; and sister Mary Allen .
She is survived by her son Mark (Diana) Bachman; granddaughter,
Sara (Mark) Hammig, great-grandchildren, Zoe and Georgie Hammig;
brothers Wayne (Nina) Sober and Don Sober, honorary family members,
Robin and Keith Shear, and many close members of the Bachman family.
During her life, Norma enjoyed world travel, baking her famous sugar
cookies, crocheting, her love of dogs and bowling leagues in which
she held several offices. She was also a member of the American
Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 269 and the Bailey Lake Club where
she and her husband would spend summers together catching fish.
She will be missed by all. A special thank you to the caring staff at
Riverwind Senior Assisted Living.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00p.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2010
at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 205 E. Middle St, Williamston; with
visitation an hour prior to the service. Graveside services will be held Friday,
September 10 at Noon at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta,
Michigan.
