Williamston, Michigan
Born August 4, 1959 to Lawrence and Judith Drolett; died October 26, 2011. Tom was brought into this world on a warm summer day in August of 1959. He was delivered by his grandfather, Dr. Larry Drolett. How proud his grandfather was that day, his first grandchild. In Tom’s short life on earth, he accomplished so much. It started at an early age with his Lansing State Journal paper route, and followed by his DJ business, Number One Sound.
After his spinal cord injury in 1985, he started a prepress company in Lansing, called Number One Graphics. Tom’s most enduring legacy in this life was his ability to love. He was a devoted husband, son, brother, and a loyal servant who sat at the foot of the Lord. Tom’s diving accident caused him to face many a challenging time these last 26 years. He did so with a grace and dignity that is not often seen. He was our hero with what seemed like super-human strength at times. He has taught us that with faith anything is possible. He had the ability to persevere through every adversity with the determination that is rare. He will be remembered, forever, for his perseverance, wicked sense of humor, empathy for the suffering of others, his intellect, his willingness to help others and above all his devotion to faith and family. Tom did not ask for much in this life, just the ability to get up every day and be productive somehow.
Tom is survived by his wife of 18 years, Colleen; father Larry (Nancy) Drolett; mother Judy (Marvin) Sandborn; father-in-law Charles Brannan; brothers John and Dave Drolett; sisters-in-law Deb (Mike) Booth, Julie DeYoung, Kathleen (Andy) Rogers and Denise (Chet) Grzibowski; brothers-in-law Mike, Dan and Steve (Amy Miller) Brannan and several nieces, nephews, many great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
