Jean was born in Grand Ledge, Michigan September 20, 1918 to Vivan and Lucille Wollpert and passed away October 5, 2010 at the age of 92. Jean was a homemaker in every sense of the word, raising a family of seven children with her husband Harold on the family farm in Williamston. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was her life. Jean was an O.E.S. lifetime member and attended the Williamston United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years, Harold; and her sister, Bettie Bowen. She is survived by her daughters, Judy Wess, Kathryn (Bruce) Nederveld, Patricia (Robert) Walzcak and Marty (Chuck) Payne; sons, Michael (Sharon) Wess, Douglas (Sally) Wess and John (Lynn) Powell; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Paul Bowen and special daughters, Mary Davidson, Pam Fraker, and Susan Jenkins. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff of Hospice House of Mid Michigan for their compassionate care and support.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 8, 1:00 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Middle St., Williamston. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Summit Cemetery.
