Little Warrior, Bubba
Bradley & Jessica Simmons welcomed their beautiful baby boy Wyatt into the world on Wednesday September 16, 2020 at Sparrow Hospital. After a short 2 years, 3 months and 24 days of loving our sweet boy he went to be with our Heavenly Father.
In the short period of time that Wyatt graced our lives with his presence he has been a warrior. Diagnosed with Pura and Bainbridge Ropers Syndrome, Wyatt was on the cusp of sitting upright, eating, and drinking on his own. His resolve could be seen while he battled to get out of hospice care during the first year of his life. Wyatt’s love and admiration for his siblings was evident during the time they spent together. This love was reciprocal, as Scott and Riley loved Wyatt unconditionally. This love was often on display during the times they shared holding, hugging, or in a simple embrace. His sister Riley’s goofiness with all the belly laughs she would give to Wyatt symbolizes the bond that they will forever share. Wyatt loved the time he spent with his parents when the other children went to bed. One of his favorite evening events was relaxing/snuggles while spending quality time with his mother and father. Some of Wyatt’s other favorite activities were playing with his light up toys and looking at any book that had texture or made noises. He really loved playing with his own hands and was on the brink of exploring some new toys and how they worked.
Wyatt had a sensational appetite for adventure. He loved traveling, whether it be to the zoo, department stores, camping, or going to Grandma’s to play with other children at her daycare. Wyatt’s love for his Grandparents was undeniable. He loved to go for a good tractor ride with Grandpa Balmer or just sit on his lap while Grandpa talked to him. The cuddles he shared with his Grandma Balmer were the sweetest and he loved staying up late with Grandma and Mom on our sleepovers when Dad is out of town.
In the summer months he loved heading to the lake with Grandma and Grandpa Simmons to enjoy the outdoors and cruise along in the golf cart with his cousins. Grandma Simmons would play with him down by the water, and in the afternoons Grandpa Simmons would take him out for boat rides on the lake. While on the go Wyatt would always look to the sky and was often mesmerized by the view.
He also loved spending time in PT, OT & Feeding therapy. He always knew he would get an extra chance to eat on his own those days along with extra cuddles from Ms. Dani during PT. Wyatt’s strength and determination could be seen by all who watched him work tirelessly during his therapy sessions. His love for exploring, trying new things, and just loving the moment was always evident. He always had a smile on his face that would brighten the day. Some of his Mother's best memories of her time with Wyatt were in the morning when she would run her finger under his chin saying, “Good Morning Sweetheart.” The large smile that ensued was a clear indication of Wyatt’s overwhelming joy. They also loved to have long stroller walks throughout the neighborhood.
Wyatt’s Mother and Father will always remember those rosy, red cheeks, two front teeth while smiling, and his smile never leaving his face (unless he gave a smirk). The impact Wyatt had on others is sure to have a lasting effect. Sharing these moments in Wyatt’s life, however brief, will continue to be a beacon of light for the time we spent and the time we will spend when we meet again in heaven. Our sweet baby Wyatt, we love you to the moon and over the stars forever and ever.
