I still think of you, Mrs Gail. You were basically mom to me in the time we spent together. Like so many others of your volunteers, there was so much love lacking in my home that I found within Morningstar - truly just a physical extension of the heart and love you had to share with us. I attribute my love of nature and the fae to our discussions. I will never forget the magic I felt sitting in your office, lined from top to bottom with books, so many books. I still have the one you gave me. You cautioned me of the perils of the spirit that I was facing but didn't know it or believe you at the time; at 38 years old now, I believe you. I finally made my place in this world, and with my sons I am building my first faerie garden. Oh, how I would love to share its growth with you.  You are loved. You are missed. I hope you and yours know just how strong the memories of you are within us.

My life is so much richer for having known Gail. I treasure the times we talked. She taught us all so much through her friendship and writing. I appreciate the times she spent with my daughters and many other young people. Thank you Gail. You will be missed.

I am sad to hear of Gail's passing. So many times in the past, she and I have talked about writing. She loved it and so did I. My prayers and thoughts go out to her husband, mother, and siblings.

Author, writer, columnist, naturist, student of life, one-who-embraces-all and my friend, peer, and colleague of the soul and spirit has made her departure from this incarnation to join the saints, sages, gurus and has finally become universal light. Oh, to be with her now. But I must wait my turn.

Riley,  I was sad to hear about Gail's passing.  I am sorry that we did not keep in touch better throughout the years.  I have many wonderful memories of Gail starting at the age of SIX when my parents first dropped me off at Grandma Leggett's house for the summer.  Being the same age as Gail she took me under her protective wing and helped me get over the trama of being without my parents for the summer.  She introduced me to the cats and we played under Grandma's house for hours.  With Gail's help I quickly overcame my home sickness.  Spending eight more summers after that Gail and I shared numerous adventures in the fields chopping peanuts and bringing in tobacco.  I remember Aunt Mamie Clyde and Uncle Joe welcoming me into their home at all hours of the day when I would just walk across the road from Grandma's house.  I could go on for hours but I just wanted to express to you that Gail will be remembered fondly by me and I have begun to tell my wife and kids some of the stories about my Cousin Gail.

I want to say Gail you will be missed greatly, you were a loving and caring person and always ready to help other. I pray the Lord will comfort your family greatly. GOD is good all the time.

I remember hours of entertainment fueled by Gail's wit.  We worked briefly together at DSS.  Gail made a lasting impression wherever she happened to be.  I think the word “unique” describes her well.  Gail will be missed.

I have known Gail for 50+ years.  We went to school together and she was a very close friend to my family.  A wonderful and beautiful person who loved the outdoors and every living thing in it! Friends and cousins we were close since childhood, Gail was a private person but she had a lot going on in her life. She leaves a legacy that will be here for a life time. Besides her books, her nature preserve, she also had her PHD, she had a wonderful husband who helped her make her dreams come true.  Gail will be missed by more than local people she will be missed her many friends through out the world, Goodbye Gail, maybe you will meet up with Ronnie

It was a privilege to know Gail and to call her my friend! Her books offered wisdom and knowledge that is rare in this day and age. I will miss her and always remember her.
