

Ms Mary as she was known throughout the community had a happy childhood and eventually met the love of her life Henry Felton "Bill "Rogers Sr, whom she married on June 3, 1944. He preceded her in death on May 30, 2002. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, Ms Mary brought great joy into the lives of everyone she knew. She had a beautiful smile that always greeted family, friends and strangers alike. A devoted Christian, she exemplified the commandment of love thy neighbor and was always willing to share her Christian faith with everyone she met. She had been a member of the Bear Grass Presbyterian Church since November 1947 and had served as the secretary of the women from 1982-2000. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband as well as siblings Mack Henry Leggett, Leroy Leggett and Rachel Leggett.
She is survived by her daughter Brenda Dianne Rogers and husband Jimmy of Williamston, son Felton Henry Rogers Jr and wife Betty of Williamston, brothers King Leggett and wife Earline, John Leggett and wife Irene, Joe Leggett and wife Mary Ann, William Leggett, Jimmy Leggett and wife Miza, and Ernest Leggett and wife Peggy all of Williamston, sisters Viola Leggett Sanderlin of Williamston, Anne Starnes, and Betty
Rae Starnes and husband Bill both of Charlotte, grandchildren Edward Fisher Rogers, Suzanne Rogers Gurganus and husband Craven, Michael Ray Rogers and wife Melanie, and Matthew Ray Rogers, great grandchildren Richard Rogers, Sara Gurganus, and
Shane Gurganus, and numerous nieces and nephews all left to cherish her memory.
May she be granted peace and eternal rest as she has now entered into the glorious Kingdom of God.
The funeral service was held Sunday at 2:00 PM at Biggs Funeral Home Chapel; burial followed at Martin Memorial Gardens. The family received friends Saturday night from 7-8:30 PM at the funeral home and other times at 2271 Leggetts Mill Road.
