Melvin Edwards

Melvin Edwards,86, died Friday June 14, 2013 At the William Dunlap Center for Care in Raleigh. The funeral service will be held Monday June 17,2013, at 1:00 PM at Piney Grove Baptist Church with Dr. James O. Hagwood and Rev. Larry Stephen officiating, burial will follow at Tice cemetery.

He was the son of the late Frank Edwards and Mollie Hardison, he was preceded in death by a son Eddie Ray Edwards, In his later years Melvin mowed yards and kept up Tice cemetery for year, he delivered the Enterprise News- paper until the age of 84.

He was a retired Sales manager for Continental Baking Co. and a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. On November 17, 1946 he married Daisy Griffin who died April 4, 2004.

He is survived by his daughter Linda Edwards of Raleigh, Sisters JoAnn Leggett of Portsmonth, Va Betty Lou Revels of Williamston, a special friend Ruth Williams of Williamston.

The family will receive friends Sunday night from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Piney Grove Baptist Church.
