Regina Smith Dickens

Regina Smith Dickens, 85, died Saturday March 19, 2016. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev John Keeter officiating; burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Scotland Neck.

Mrs Dickens was born in Northampton County on February 12, 1931, daughter of the late Frank and Nettie Jenkins Smith. She was retired from Firestone Tire Company where she had worked as a forklift operator for many years. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

On February 21, 1954 she married Howard Brunell Dickens who preceded her in death on April 12, 2000. Brothers Carroll Smith, and Mark Smith, and a sister Carolyn Smith also preceded her in death.

Survivors are a daughter Tina Louise Smith and husband Roy of Garner, sons Howard Michael Dickens and wife Cathy of Hookerton, David Brunell Dickens and wife Terry of Ayden, and Joey Dickens and wife Kathy of Williamston, grandchildren Mandi Spangler and husband Rick, Travis Michael Dickens, Lydia Grace Howard and husband Brandon, Chris Dickens, Matthew Dickens, and Gina Marie Dickens, great grandchildren Charli Spangler, Miles Spangler, and Spencer Dickens, sisters Dezma Medlin of Port Richey Florida, and Charlotte Wheeler of Jackson, and brother Gerald Smith of Trenton Georgia.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:30-8:00 PM at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at residence of Joey Dickens on Bear Grass Road.
