Richard Lawrence “Shorty” Dobson, 80, died Tuesday September 24, 2013 at his home. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at Cedar Branch Baptist Church with Rev Paul Weaver and Pastor Michael Llewellyn officiating; burial will follow at Jamesville Cemetery.
“Shorty” was born on January 5, 1933 in Nowell MA, son of the late Roland L and Louise Frances Douylluz Dobson. He was a welder with Weyerhaeuser Company before retirement in 1995 and a member of the Cedar Branch Baptist Church. Also he served in the United States Marine Corp. On November 26, 1954 he married Margaret Modlin Dobson. Survivors in addition to his wife are sons Jesse Dobson and Ricky Dobson both of Jamesville, and a daughter April Dobson Bullock of Stokes, 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7-8:30 PM at the Church and other times at the residence 2047 Mill Road in Jamesville.
