We were saddened to hear of Ann's passing. She was a wonderful friend, with so much zest for living. We loved sharing theater with her and Lionel, and enjoyed her hospitality on many occasions. She had a real enthusiasm for her many causes, and conveyed that to everyone she met. We will miss her greatly

I am sad to hear of the loss of Ann, who was a close friend of my mother. In 2004, she threw me a lovely and thoughtful bridal shower at her home and put together a recipe book for me from their friends' favorites. My mom talked often about her and enjoyed her frequent company. I admired her energy, interesting and strong mind, and humor.

Ann will be missed by many. Many, however, will continue to treasure the memory of her sparkling personality; her active help to  organizations in our community like WNED, the League of Women Voters, UNICEF, The Food Bank; her avid and eager mind; her love of books; her love of tennis;her pleasure playing a challenging hand of bridge; her superior organizational skills;  her kind friendship; and perhaps most of all the pride and love she expressed whenever she spoke about her family.We extend our sympathy to all who had the pleasure of knowing Ann. I was so saddened to hear about Ann.
We had just had lunch together and she wanted to entertain me when I returned from the south in the next couple of weeks for another visit.
She always was so gracious and a lovely hostess.
She seemed so well and so active that it was a shock to hear she had gone.
I will always treasure the memories we made. She was a dear friend.

Dear Ann:
We think that it will be "upstairs" for you not "downstairs and we know that you will be the one providing the sparkling conversation with  your customary wit and insights.  We've known you for over fifty years but did not know until recently that you and Obama and Romney (x2) graduated from Harvard/Radcliff University.  We appreciate your modesty as well as your other gifts, such as a "giving" person.  We hope that your family can be sustained by the precious memories that you provided

Ernie and I had the good luck to know Ann since her single days.  She was a wonderfully well-organized friend who again and again had friends to lunch or dinner.  Her entertaining was low key, so we all felt at ease with her and Lionel, while her dining table was perfectly set and the food delicious.  The conversation was not trivial, often touching on liberal politics, even when more conservative invitees were present.  We will miss her.

Ann was a dear friend whom we enjoyed greatly.  She was bright, opinionated, funny, versatile, thoughtful and we always enjoyed our time together.  I miss her already and am still getting used to the fact that she is gone.  We are grateful for her friendship and for her long, productive life, lived to the fullest until the very end.

Your aunt was a treasure. We have so  many fond childhood memories-puzzles, gourmet dinners, a lifetime pool pass, shortbread cookies, theatre outings.... all with 6 children in tow! She and Lionel were a big part of our growing up . She was a loyal friend to my mom and called her often . We will miss her.

Ann was an outstanding individual whose contributions to organizations and worthy causes both national and local were too numerous to mention.  She was a loyal and a generous friend and a woman who earned the respect and admiration of all who knew her.  We extend our heartfelt condolences to her loving family.
