Of Clarence NY, passed away on January 25,2026. Carol was the beloved wife for 36 years to William C. Howrie III; cherished sister of Grace (James III) Nash and Franklin (Vicki) LaMountain; loving daughter of the late Nelson and late Ruby LaMountain. Carol was born in Pittsfield, MA, where she graduated from Pittsfield High School and then Truesdale School of Nursing in Fall River, MA. She was a nurse at Rhode Island Hospital, where she met her future husband Bill, and subsequently worked in the eye department at the West Jersey Hospital System before moving to Western NY. She will be missed immeasurably. Friends will be received on Thursday February 5, 2026 from 4 – 7 PM at the PERNA DENGLER ROBERTS FUNERAL HOME 1671 Maple Road, Williamsville NY. A prayer service will be held on Friday February 6th at 10 AM also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol’s memory to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation or the SPCA Serving Erie County.
