Elinor "Lovey" Stein

Age 83, of Snyder, passed away at home from cancer on June 19th, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Buffalo on October 28, 1939 and earned a Bachelor’s degree from the former Rosary Hill College and a Master’s degree in Education from Canisius College. She enjoyed a long career in both elementary education and Information Technology training. Lovey enjoyed spending time with her family, particularly her beautiful grandchildren. She had a passion for gardening and enjoyed tending to her backyard. She loved to travel with her husband, children and grandchildren and particularly enjoyed walking on the beach and collecting seashells. Lovey is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Joseph C. Stein, Jr. Also surviving her are her daughter Melissa Moore and her husband Glenn, Williamsville; her son Joseph C. Stein III and his wife Nancy, Darien, CT; and her son Eric J. Stein and his wife Katie, Darien, CT. She was a proud and loving grandmother to ten grandchildren who adored her: Erin, Ryan, Elizabeth and Molly Moore; Courtney, Emily, and Anna Stein; and Olivia, Matthew and Cecelia Stein. There will be a mass of Christian burial at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 30 Lamarck Dr, Amherst, NY at 11:00 AM on Friday June 23, 2023. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Christ the King Church, where Lovey was a parishioner.
