

Clare attended City College of NY receiving a bachelor’s degree in education. She later attained her Master’s degree at Adelphi University.
Clare began her 40 year career as a grade school teacher in Cheektowaga, NY at Our Lady Help of Christians school. She also taught in Los Angeles for a few years and then continued on as an art teacher at Washington Irving High School in Manhattan. She was the moderator of the high school year book which won many awards city-wide.
Clare lead a full life in the lively West Village of Manhattan for fifty fun-filled years. She was a small town girl living in the big city! Her passion of art and socialization led her to become a member of The National Arts Club. She started a satellite Chapter of Sigma Phi Gamma International Sorority, a service organization, in New York City. She also attended many plays, dinners and events with her multitude of friends that she spoke to almost daily.
Clare enjoyed many hobbies including painting, photography, and traveling.
Some of her adventures included: riding camels in Egypt and elephants in India, petting koalas in Australia, meeting relatives and exploring family roots in Italy and Ireland, and going on an adventurous 75 day southeast Asian trip with her niece, Alicia, covering Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Macau and Japan.
She also loved to take road trips with friends and family across the United States on a moment‘s notice.
Clare spent a lot of time in North and South Carolina exploring and artistically recreating the beautiful scenery of the beach and mountains.
Clare loved to be on the go and was up for anything. Casinos around the world and scratch offs were a fun past-time of hers as well.
Her gift of gab, friendliness to strangers, energy and humor drew many people to her.
Clare lived a great life.

August 31, 2022, of New York City. Beloved daughter of the late Pascal and Mary (nee Considine) Saviola; dear sister of Mark (Marlene) Saviola, the late Kevin (Moira and her husband David Dooley) Saviola and the late Brian (Linda) Saviola; loving aunt of the late Alicia Saviola (Ryan) Hermsen, Stephanie Saviola (Ryan) Roehm, Bridget Saviola, Carrie Saviola and Beatrice Saviola; great-aunt of Ryan Roehm III, Nicholas and Alexandra Hermsen and Patrick and Parker Wheeler.
The family will be present to receive friends Friday, September 9th from 4-7 PM at BEACH-TUYN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5541 Main Street (at Cayuga Rd.), Williamsville. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday morning, September 10th at 11 o’clock in SS Peter & Paul Church, Williamsville. Please assemble at church.
