Remedios B. Penetrante M.D.

Remedios B. Penetrante, MD at 79 years old passed away on April 29th, 2020 after living with Alzheimer’s disease the last years of her life. Known as Remy, she was a loving wife, mother of four children and Lola to nine grandchildren.

She was the daughter of Fermina and Eusebio Buison. She is survived by her husband Dr. Aristides E. Penetrante, her daughters Dr. Maria Linda Zapson (Ed, Sabrina and Denis), J.P. Penetrante Lowe (Austin and Aly), Dr. Florian Moger (Matthew, Bella and Roberta), and son Jude Penetrante (Trish, Madison, Jacob and Savannah). She is also survived by siblings Rosario and Renato. Remy completed her medical degree at the University of Santo Thomas in the Philippines. She immigrated with her family to Buffalo, NY in 1968. She placed her medical career on hold for nine years to care for her family then later completed her Residency in Pathology at Sisters of Charity Hospital. Following she had a distinguished 30 year career as a Pathologist at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, retiring in 2010. She was passionate about her work and found comfort in being able to help those afflicted with cancer. Remy was an active member of the Filipino community, hosted parties, loved cooking and spread her generosity with all those she encountered. She was also an avid graceful ballroom dancer and shared her talent teaching others. Her smile and vibrant spirit will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at Perna, Dengler Roberts Funeral Home in Williamsville, NY, for immediate family only due to social distancing. Her final resting place will be at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, in Lockport, NY.
