Barbara Blinderman

Barbara Jean Blinderman, nee Cohen, 93, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026 in Greensboro, NC. Born and raised in Hyde Park, Chicago, she was a long-time resident of the North Shore in Wilmette and Northfield. Barbara is survived by her children Nancy Reib (Ibo Coban) and Susan Reib (Stuart Feil), and her grandchildren Arden Feil and Owen Feil. She was predeceased by her children Michael Reib and Andrew Reib. She was previously married to William Reib, and later married the late Leonard Blinderman, with whom she shared 15 years of marriage, and she is survived by Leonard’s children Paul Blinderman, Steven Blinderman (Roxanne Gottlieb), David Blinderman (Elizabeth Blinderman) and her step-grandchildren Jon Blinderman, Sam Blinderman, Max Blinderman, Anna Blinderman. Barbara was also the loving aunt to the children of her late sister Audrey Markoff (Alvin Markoff): Robert Markoff (Diane Markoff), Barbara Markoff (River Kaster), Fred Markoff (Sharon Markoff), Lisa White (Jerry White). Barbara took great pleasure in her large Chicago-area extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins, and her many friendships, and was admired for her graciousness, hospitality and style. She was a life-long volunteer for community and charitable causes. She will be dearly missed. May her memory be a blessing. Funeral service Monday, April 6, 11:00 AM at Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 9900 Gross Point Rd, Skokie, IL 60076. Entombment to follow.
