

Deana C. Greenblatt, 75, of Chicago, IL, passed away on December 12. Deana was born in Chicago, IL, on March 13, 1948. She was raised by her mother, Betty Beisel, and her two aunts, Belle and Frances Lamasky. She earned a bachelor's degree in elementary school education from Chicago State University and a masters degree in guidance counseling from Roosevelt University in Chicago. Deana’s education allowed her to build a career in elementary education as a teacher, something she was very proud of. She also worked as a telemarketer for a variety of businesses and charities.
Deana met her husband, Mark, at a singles event hosted by Temple Sholom. The pair fell in love and were married on June 22, 1975, celebrating 48 years of marriage together. They moved to Columbus, OH, where they lived for many years. They returned to Chicago so that Deana would be able to care for her mother. Deana was an enthusiastic bingo player, tv watcher, and film lover. She drew great pleasure from her dog, Colonel.
Deana is survived by her beloved husband, Mark Greenblatt. She was preceded in death by her caring mother, Betty Beisel, and her devoted aunts, Belle Lamasky and Frances Lamasky.
Funeral service Thursday, December 21, 12PM at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette, IL. Interment Westlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Deana’s name to a charity of your choice.
