

Eli Fishman passed away at home on January 13, 2023 in Chicago, IL. Eli was born on November 22, 1949 in Columbia, MO to the late Rabbi Morris and Lala Fishman. He graduated from Sullivan High School and obtained a Bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Illinois Circle Campus, an MBA from Northwestern University and a Masters degree in Education from the University of Chicago.
Eli worked and invested in Real Estate and Manufacturing in Missouri and Illinois. He was an early proponent of American Labor and was recognized with the American Labor Museum award for his work. In addition, Eli was the Regional Director of the Jewish Labor Committee. He is the author of "Education Redux: The E-Oneroom Schoolhouse", a political discourse regarding education and the economy.
Eli is survived by his children Lisa (Scott Vickery) Fishman, Rebecca Fishman, and Jonathan Fishman. He was a devoted brother to the Honorable Abbey Fishman (Daron) Romanek and Ora (Danny) Munter, and uncle to Josh, Mikey, and Ricky Romanek and Jeremy Munter.
