Harvey grew up in Chicago with one older sister Blanche. He loved all sports, but especially baseball and the Chicago Cubs in particular. As a young boy he would take public transit to watch the games behind the ivy covered walls of Wrigley Field. Being a lifelong Cubs fan, he lived to see his beloved Cubs win the World Series in 2016.
Upon graduation from Pharmacy School at the University of Illinois, he went to work for Walgreens, where he worked at various stores in Chicago, Miami and eventually Tampa, Florida where he retired after 42 years. He won many trophies and awards for being a top seller of Walgreens vitamin supplements and his apartment showcased many of these achievements. It was always a great conversation starter. Harvey was a member of the Walgreen’s bowling team and being an avid runner, participated in numerous races and marathons.
Harvey had a knack for numbers and dates, being able to recall a person’s birthday or anniversary many years later with just one introduction.
Harvey is survived by his son, Gerald (Donna) Tenenblatt of FL, his daughter, Lori Morgan (Dan) Franklin of NC; grandchildren, Jennifer Steptoe, Michael (Elyssa) Tenenblatt, Taylor (Rachel) Morgan, Samantha Morgan, Leah (Alex) Cobble, and Ross Melquist; 8 great grandchildren; nephew Sherwin Minster, and great nephew, Michael Minster. Harvey was preceded in death by his sister, Blanche Minster and grandson, Christopher Tenenblatt.
