Jane Chandler, née Burge, 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 4th, 2024. Jane was born in Cleveland, Ohio, received a degree from Briarcliffe College and attended Miami University in Ohio.
Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, the late Fred Chandler, and dear brother, the late Robert (Valerie) Burge. She is survived by her cherished children, John (Tracy) Chandler, Catherine (Steve) Jones, Christie (John) Chandler-Stahl, and Carolyn (Pete) Mattox, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Jane loved bridge, sports and was an avid golfer winning club championships over several decades. She also loved animals, especially dogs and horses, and spent childhood summers outdoors in Vermont. She valued her work as a hospice volunteer and was active in her community. Jane loved people and was a loyal friend to many, arriving with dinner and a healing presence when needed. Her last decade was enriched by her family and friends, staff and compassionate caregivers at the presbyterian Homes in Evanston, Illinois.
