Maria Kutman, age 89, of Wilmette, Illinois passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022. Maria was born July 20, 1932 in Ukraine. She was the beloved wife of Peter for 64 years; devoted mother of Zhanna Kutman; treasured grandmother of Clara (Alec) Levy and Michael Kutman; caring sister of Lena (Vladimir) Vizenberg; loving aunt of Alexandra (Victor) Krich and Ross (Valeria) Vizenberg. Maria came to the United States at the age of 49, speaking not a word of English. She immersed herself in the culture, learned the language, even learned to drive at the age of 60. She will be deeply missed.
Funeral service Tuesday, February 1, 12 PM at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.
Due to Covid, the family will not be sitting shiva at this time. There will be a celebration of Maria's life in the summer, details forthcoming.
