Marissa expressed her strong sense of Social Justice as Administrative Director of BPI (Business & Professional People for the Public Interest, now Impact for Equity), for 40 years, and also worked in the office of Chicago Mayor Harold Washington. Marissa’s smile lit up the lives of all who knew her and many who didn’t – friends, family, coworkers, and people on the street who delighted in her bold sense of fashion and joie de vivre. She decorated herself and her surroundings with style and flair. Chicago’s own Iris Apfel. Marissa will always be remembered for her generous and loving spirit and will live forever in our hearts. Like her chocolate chip cookies, she will never be forgotten.
Friends and family will gather for a funeral service for Marissa that will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15th, 2024, at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd., Wilmette, IL 60091. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.
