Marlene S. Bernstein (née Stein), 84, passed away on April 6, 2025. Cherished daughter of the late Fred and Belle Stein (née Nathan). Loving wife of the late Robert D. Bernstein. Devoted mother to Richard, Sherry, and Gary (Karen) Bernstein. Adoring grandmother to Tyler, Paige, Calvin, and Sadie, all of whom brought her immense joy. Beloved sister of Judy Wolfberg (the late Robert).
Marlene deeply loved her parents-in-law, the late Sema and Sam Bernstein, as well as her sister-in-law, the late Barbara Seiller (the late Stuart). She was a caring aunt to her niece and nephews. She held her extended family close, often fondly reminiscing about her many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She greatly treasured her lifelong friendship with the late Nancy Spiegel. Marlene had many longstanding friendships and made new friends everywhere she went (literally, everywhere!).
Marlene lived life to the fullest and found joy in the simple things, such as candy, orange pop, watching the Cubs play, reading, baking, playing games, casino trips, shopping, and, most importantly, spending time with her family and friends. She cared deeply for others, a trait reflected throughout her life. She faced challenges with grace, humor, and positivity —she was the epitome of resilience. To have her in your life was truly a gift.
