

Born September 20, 1944 to Harry and Lucille (née Chaiken), Max was the eldest son of eight children. As a young man, he worked in the Albany Park neighborhood including at the Tel Aviv bakery, the movie theatre and the local post office. Max married the love of his life Judy (née Dickerson), whom he met at
a workshop. They lived on Lake Shore Drive and were avid Cubs fans. A devoted husband, he cared for her until her death from muscular dystrophy in 1994. For the next twenty years, Max lived at The Riverside Foundation in Lincolnshire, where he was a mover and a shaker with a robust social life. He enjoyed visits from family and friends and loved being with people. They, too, loved him.
Max was predeceased by his parents and sisters Sharon (Paul) Garvin, Bonnie Adrienne and Arlene Joy. He is survived by siblings Aaron (Devorah) Klein, Barbara (Mark) Gibson, Robert (Barbara) Klein, and Pamela (Norman) Hochfeld; nephews Barry (Kristi) Klein and Moshe (Shelley) Gross; nieces Rebecca (Bill) Podell, Nicole (Alex) Hochfeld, Sarah Ilene (Tal) Klein, Rivka (Nissim) Stolberg, Bonnie Gibson, and Audrey Klein; as well as seventeen grandnieces and grandnephews.
Friends and family will gather for a graveside service for Max will be held Wednesday, August 23rd, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Waldheim Cemetery, 1400 Des Plaines Avenue, Forest Park, Illinois 60130.
