Dr. Milton Jack Isaacs, 81, of Evanston, suddenly passed away on Saturday, February 25th, 2017. Dr. Isaacs was a brilliant dentist and educator with a focus on cosmetic dentistry. Born in Chicago, IL, he was a graduate of the University of Michigan and the UIC College of Dentistry. After serving in the United States Army as a dentist, he opened his own practice but also worked and volunteered at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, IL. He practiced in the suburb of Dolton for decades with his partner Dr. Lee Silverglade, DDS.
Jack, as he was known to his family and friends, retired in 2010 and enjoyed spending his free time with his much-loved two longhaired Dachshunds Lovie and Alistair (Ally) and with his adored wife of 12 years, historian Anette Isaacs. Her lecturing at various institutions in the Chicagoland area inspired him to volunteer for several years as a program assistant at the North Shore Senior Center in Northfield, IL. An avid poker player, Jack could be found almost every Tuesday afternoon at the SEL group poker games in Northbrook, IL. He was happiest when he traveled the world in style with his wife (he loved being with her in her hometown of Berlin, Germany), when he played with his dogs at the dog park in Glenview, when he listened to a myriad of concerts at Ravinia or attended the Chicago Festival of Israeli Cinema, and when he and his “coffee gang” were solving the world’s problems every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning at Panera in Skokie.
Jack is survived by his devastated wife Anette, his daughters Julie O’Connor and Laurie Rosenberg, his grandchildren Joshua, Rachel, Mathew and Daniel and by many friends who loved him and can’t believe this wonderful, amazing man is gone. He will be missed indescribably.
There will not be a Shiva or a Memorial Service, but since Jack was such an enthusiastic dog lover we ask that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made in his name to the Midwest Dachshund Rescue, 2023 Ridgewood Street, Highland IN 46322, or online at www.mwdr.org.
May his memory be for a blessing.
