Pearl Davis

Pearl Davis, nee Berkson, beloved spouse of the late N. Roy Beller and the late Maurice J. Davis, died peacefully in Springfield, Illinois, just shy of her 106th birthday. Born in Chicago to Hyman and Lottie Berkson, she is the youngest and last surviving of nine siblings. She is survived by her son Herb (Jane) Beller and daughter Terri (Fred) Benson; granddaughters Angie (Marc) Beermann, Lindsay (Ryan Chew) Beller, Sandra Benson and Leslie (Robbie Alden) Benson; and great-grandchildren Max and Nate Beermann, Tabitha and Nora Chew, and Isaiah Alden. Pearl is a graduate of Marshall High School and Northwestern University, and taught in Chicago public schools. She lived for many years in Palm Springs where she had countless close friends with whom she shared her extraordinary wit, compassion and wise unsolicited advice. Graveside service Sunday, Sept. 25, 10:30am, at Silverman & Weiss Cemetery, Gate No. 52, Des Plaines Ave, Forest Park, IL. Shiva will take place on Sunday, Sept. 25, from 2-4pm at 425 Grove St, Apt. 8D, Evanston, IL 60201. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jewish Federation of Springfield, 1045 Outerpark Dr, Springfield, IL 62704, or a charity of your choice.
