Dr. Philip Louis White, Sc.D., May 19, 1922 to June 4, 2011. Dr. Philip White, age 89, of Wheaton, formerly of Wilmette IL, died June 4 after a long illness. Beloved husband of the late Dr. Hilda White, nee Sarver; devoted father of Nancy Lynne Culp of Wheaton, IL and Charles Philip White of San Jose, CA; grandfather of Ryan and Shawna Culp. He is also survived by a sister, Helen Smith of New Jersey, and was preceded in death by his brothers Johnathan and Donald. Dr. White was Secretary of the Council on Foods and Nutrition of the American Medical Association from 1956 to 1985. A memorial service will be held June 25 at 3 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1024 Lake Ave., Wilmette, IL 60091. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church where a fund to support their food pantry has been established.
