Robert "Bob" Berger passed away last Saturday in California. He was 86. In addition to his successful career as a creative real estate developer, Bob was a restorer, farmer, and passionate patron of the arts via the historic Fine Arts and Flat Iron buildings in Chicago. It was with a deep sense of pride that he believed his mother, Dorothy, to be the impetus for her sons' numerous achievements in Chicago and beyond. By his own admission, he made a bunch of errors throughout life, though ultimately also did a lot of good. The myriad of charities to which Bob and his daughter Erica donated will continue to receive gifts through the Robert B. Berger foundation, as directed by Erica. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at both the Fine Arts and Flat Iron buildings in Chicago at a future date. An intimate memorial service was held graveside. In lieu of gifts or flowers, please make a gift to your charity of choice.
